This week we have been really busy and occupied with a lot of investigators that we have found. We are working with a family named Salasar R. that is progressing really well in the Gospel. They are asisting at church and the Dad has stopped drinking alchohol. They seem like a family that is really united. We had a few difficulties this month getting them married. They didn't have the funds to do so but we did an activity to help them out.
Over here the people in Peru do activities to raise money when they need it. They are called "Polladas". This activity takes a lot of effort to do it and needs help from the members. Luckily we sold 40 polladas for 10 soles and we raised money to help them out for next month.
They are really excited about getting Married next month and getting baptized. We have another investigator that is named David D. Torrez. He is awesome and from Iquitos. He is so humble and wants to make a change in his life. We are working with him to stop drinking and to not feel a lone cause his family is in Iquitos.
Yesterday I got the opportunity to give a talk in church. I talked about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Richard G Scott gave an awesome talk on the Atonement. I gave the talk and everyone congratulated me. I think i did a good job. One of the questions I told to everyone at church was if You could give one advice to someone that was living today here on earth what would it be? I want you guys to think about it. Think which scripture or which attribute they should have or what they should do here on the earth.
Our president asked us the same thing and i couldn't answer it. Then he showed a scripture in DyC 19:20 He said that would be the advice that he would give someone. Also a scripture that I love is helaman 5: 10 where the scripture says that Jesus came here not to save us in our sins but to save us from our sins. Which can be done through the repentance.
I love being in the mission and keep learning more about the book of mormon and the bible. Its a blessing and privilege to be a missionary in these last days.
ALso today Im going to eat pachamanca a la tierra which you can google.
see you later
