Buenas Familia en California!!!! Como estan? Hope you guys have a good halloween and dress up coco. It's starting to get hotter over here and I'm starting to sweat more too haha.

This coming week is Halloween and your probably wondering if they celebrate Halloween over here in Peru but in reality no one does. It's pretty weird to hear people say like I don't do anything that day. They do celebrate "EL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS" in which they go visit the people that have passed away on the First of November.

I'm telling everyone that I'm dressing up as a missionary and that we were going to knock on doors to get candy but also to give them something in return which is great happiness if they hear our message.

I've been working really hard to become a better teacher these couple of weeks. When you first get to the mission you think that you are ready but in reality you don't know a lot. I've been working with learning the mastery of lessons but at the same time learning the doctrine behind it. It's hard cause as a missionary you try to memorize different points so that the spirit can bring it to your mind later on when you need it. Like if you read Genesis 4 I think its versus 2-5 it talks about how there was Giants here on the earth which now makes sense the story of David and Goliath. Also one that i read that I love is in John 3: the last versus where it talks about when Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist. I'm starting to learn different scriptures in the Bible to help other people understand it here in Peru. A lot of people misinterpret the Bible and there is a lot of different religions here in Peru.

I always tell people that the Gospel is easy but life is hard. This statement is really true. Also a lot of people here get really easily offended and then they leave the church. As missionaries we try to help the members understand that we dont go to church for the members or the people. We go cause we love our savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. It's plain and simple. I'm starting to forget a little how California is like but the weeks here go so fast now. I'm not focused on home anymore. I'm focused about the Lord's work.

It's pretty cool how people here think that the missionaries are the best and that they are angels sent from God cause they ask us about really weird stuff but also give us really cool things. This week one of the members gave me a bill from Uruguay that is 10000 something can't remember the name of the money but it was really nice of her to do that. The people of Lima are awesome and really nice. I can't get enough of the food and the different words I hear here in Peru. I'm trying to adapt to the culture as much as I can.

This week we baptized one of our investigators. His name is Max. I got the opportunity to confirm upon him the gift of the Holy Ghost and give him a blessing too. I was a little bit neervous but I put my faith in our God and it all worked out fine. I also confirmed him as a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. Max is such a good member and I feel that he will be an active member for the rest of his life.

Next week we have transfers and I'm not sure if Elder C. will be my companion. We have had our differences at time but we have worked everything out in the end. We get a long really well and hopefully that we will be companions till December.

We are planning to baptize two families next month and also two other investigators. We are having a lot of success finding people and the Lord is helping us every step of the way. I love a scripture that I got to know on my mission. It's in Doctrine and Covenants chapter 1. This chapter talks about how the Lord calls his disciples. It lets us know that our Heavenly Father calls the weak and humble of the world to do his work. Not the powerful and strong. He wants people that know how to be humble and be compassionate. In this chapter it also says that after he calls them to serve that he will make them strong. Us as missionaries have to be humble everyday to know where to be guided and know which houses to knock on. Then when we find those people looking to the truth he will give us power and authority to change their lives. The words that come out from our mouths are not ours are the Lord's words. It's incredible how you can see a persons life change after each lesson we teach them and to be obedient to the commandments. Hope you guys have time to read that chapter. I has helped me a lot.

I know I've talked a lot haha but I hope you guys have a good week and have a Good Halloween. I'll probably eat Pizza or something don't really know. Thanks chau....dads favorite word and know I'm using it hahahaha
