Hey guys hows it going? This week has gone by so fast I still cant believe its monday. This week I have learned so much with my companions. Im gratefull to have 2 companions. Their is always something happening and we are always having a good time. I know that through diligence and faith we can do miracles in peoples life. Apart from now having more responsibility we have been looking for people and knocking on peoples doors.
This has lead us to help a family that is going to get married on the 31 of october and she is going to get baptised that same day. This family is the Chumbe family. The husband is a returned missionary but he is less active. The wife is not member and we are trying to get them to go back to church and make sacred covenants with the Lord.
This week I have learned a lot from my companions. My first companion Elder Pond is from Arizona and my second companion is Elder Pastenes from Chile. Both of them have a lot of time and are almost heading home. Elder Pond has 21 months in the mission and Elder Pastenes has 19 months. From all this expirience they have, I have been trying to learn from them each day. I have been noticing my weaknesses and have been trying to get better each day.
This week I would like to write to you guys the appreciation that I have gotten for the missionaries in their areas. I would like to start off saying a quote "A great leader doesn't make followers, it makes more leaders" This quote made me think a lot. I was determined to understand the concept behind this quote.
Something that I have learned in these two weeks Ive had is that we are not here to govern over people we are here to help those missionaries accelerate the attributes and gifts of the missionaries. We are here to help them become more like Christ.
I have learned that each missionary has different needs and problems but only through the spirit we can resolve those problems. Sometimes we see them as all being the same but really each one has to be helped individually. I imagine how the Lord sees us and how he does focus on us individually.
I love the Lord and I have had the opportunity to bear testimony that he Lives, that he loves us, and that he desires that we return to his father in heaven. Love you guys.
Talk to you soon.
Elder Parra
