Hey guys wow time really flies by not sure what to think right now. I have 1 year in the mission and this week was a hard week cause it brought a lot of memories to my mind. I cant believe taht Tyler is home already. Also that you are in CHina. Hey but Im in a better place which is Peru haha. No just kidding. Im happy to be able to serve the Lord, my master, and my friend Jesus Christ. We are his hands here on the earth and Im happy to be a part of it.
Happy 25th years together. I am so happy for you guys. Now I know what it means to have 25 years together and be the best of friends. You guys are the best example any one could give me. Here in the mission I have seen the good things in families and the bad ones. I have seen families that dont have a father or mother. Their is a lot of problems with the Law of Chastity.
I now understand how to direct my family when I have one and to have this conversion here in the mission. This coming week we will have the opportunity to hear Elder Bednar one of the members of the 12 Apostles. Im super excited and really looking forward to what he will say.
Today I was reading another talk by him that we have to study before his arrival. This talk is called ask in faith. I learned a really awesome lesson. Now that I have more time in the mission I know that not just any person can write like the prophets do and apostles do. They are inspired from high above.
Elder Bednar talked about the members and how to ask in faith. He compared it to missionary Work. Sometimes we as members ask the Lord for the missionaries and that they find families or people to teach. He said we are asking the wrong thing. We more like members need to ask Father help us to find those families so we can present to the missionaries. We need to pray and act upon the promptings that we receive from the train of thoughts we get of names that come to our head. This is a really true statement. I know that when I get back I will do all that is possible to help the missionaries bring more people unto Christ. Here in Peru really has made me reflect upon that. A lot of returned missionaries think that their mission is over and they can focus on their life only. They are mistakingly wrong. We as members are forever missionaries.
I love the work we are doing here in Peru. Zach Fisher sent me a photo of his zone in Colombia and he is dong awesome. Also today are the changes and not sure whats going to happen. THis week we are going to continue to work hard. Oh I almost forgot to tell you we have 3 baptisms this week on Saturday so we are happy.
Ill talk to you guys soonn"Cada varon aprende su deber and despues trabaja en toda diligencia para cumplirlo. Nunca siedo ocioso para que aparescas sin mancha el ultimo dia.
Love you guys.
Elder Parra
