We are over here in Peru a long distance away working hard and serving our Lord. This past week we did some french toast and other activities. Tomorrow we will be going to Lima Central. I'm excited to go there and see some pretty great things. I love reading your letters and thank you for inspiring me every week. Me and ELder Mamani are learning a lot of great experiences in our area.
This area has taught me quite a lot. I didnt think it was possible to say it but my first area was easy haha. This one is a little more challenging. Just cause our area is really far from the church. It is awesome the sacrifice some of the people have to do to go to church. The thing is here no one uses cars just buses and combis. Our area is called the Forgotten Land or Jerusalem cause of all the iniquities. Its a great area to learn and I think why the president has put me here and with two sons.
We have been working hard this week with a lot of families that we have found. I dont think Ive ever talked to so many people in my life before like this week. Out of this last month we have talked to around 400 new people. THey are all mostly husbands. THey are the key to finding a new family. When the husband is actively engaged to listen the whole family listens.
Ive been learning a lot from my new companion and trying to get christ like attributes this whole change. The last change I think that one that I have been able to get is patience. LIke Pte. Uchtdorf said "Patience is key to having success in life". Its also one of the hardest to get in the mission I think.
This week I also memorized a scripture that is in 2 Nefi 27:23 que dice "23 Porque he aquí, yo soy Dios; y soy un Dios demilagros; y manifestaré al mundo que soy el mismo ayer, hoy y para siempre; y no obro entre los hijos de los hombres sino de conformidad con su fe. (23 For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith.)
I know that is is key in this life to have faith but faith through experiences becomes knowledge of God's will which then you will obey cause of the fruits it give you. I know this church is true with every fiber of my body. I have found that knowledge in my life here. Ive asked everyday this week If the Book of Mormon is true and I can feel that it is. I love you guys and keep it up over their.
