This week I've been working really hard with a family that was just living together but they weren't married. We thought that they weren't going to get married till January but suddenly after teaching them to follow the commandments they decided to want to get married. They are going to get married hopefully this month and be baptized too.
Im so happy for them to take this decision. Its a family that owns a farm and they are a total of 4 in the family. Three can get baptized and two can have the priesthood. This week we did some service for them at their chakara. It was a lot of fun but at the same time it was hard work. This experience made me be grateful for the job that I had at my uncle's store. Their job is getting up everyday and picking out asparagus from the ground. After a while it hurts your back. I think I've gotten used to living over here in Peru but its hard to believe that where I lived we actually had a road that didn't have holes.
The mission is definitely humbling me into being thankful for all the things I had back home. This week one of the members picked us up in his car and for the first time it felt weird cause I didn't have to walk to get somewhere haha. I cant believe each week goes by so fast and that the time is flying. In reality I don't realize that its Pday until like sunday cause me and companion are working really hard.
Today we have the opportunity of going to go eat at CHILES for freee. Each missionary has 25 soles each month so that we can go eat as a zone. Don't worry about me today haha todays going to be a good day eating the closest to american food as possible haha.
Something that the mission has been helping me is to find solutions to my problems that I have like when we have appointments and they fall we find a solution. I understand now dad why you are so good at finding solutions and not just giving up. Also my patience has grown a lot here. There is a thing over here called La Hora Peruana. This means that like if we have an activity its ok to get there like 30 minutes late which is around the time everyone gets there haha. Also another thing that Ive learned in the mission is that the time is against the missionaries. The time flies by and once you know it is already time to go to sleep. Literally going to sleep is the best. Ive learned now that after saying my prayer and once i hit the pillow I go to sleep so that the next day I can wake up to play futbolito.
There is a lot of amazing things that the mission brings.
Im so happy to be a servant of Jesus Christ and a representative of him. Im giving my 110 percent.
