This week has
been a little difficult but at the same time its been a great time to
learn and progress. Me and my new companion have been contacting like
crazy. We have been rejected quite a few times by people slamming the
door on us haha but its sad to see how some people are so prideful in
this life that don't want to listen to us. Out of all the people we
contact we always find one or two that we think will progress and that
is the important part.
This week we have been
teaching a lot of people about the purpose that they have here on the
earth. The mission has helped me to learn how to deal with problems and
find a solution. I was pondering this week about what our purpose here
on the earth is. A scripture that I love is In Alma 34 where it talks
about the purpose of people here on the earth. Some of the versus talk
about that we shouldn't put of our day of repentance till the last day.
We use this scripture when investigators are doubtful about getting
baptized. We try to explain them that we are here on this earth to have
happiness and to be successful. We need to take some steps to have
happiness. First to have faith In Jesus Christ, Second to Repent, Third
be baptized with someone that has the authority or the priesthood,
Fourth to have the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Fifth is to endure to the
end. These are the steps we need to take to have happiness and to do
what our heavenly Father wants us to do. I also love telling people that
we are here to face problems and overcome them. If we didn't know what
sadness feels like we would never know what happiness feels like. I love
this gospel cause everything is so easy to understand and it is perfect
in every form. Just sometimes as humans we are not perfect.
We
have been working really hard to go out with members this week so that
our investigators know someone at church. The members here in Santo
Domingo are so helpful and they all understand what missionary work
really means. I'm so glad and happy that I am here in Peru learning but
also spreading what I love. The people are awesome, the food is great,
and the culture is fantastic.
Me and Elder
A. are getting into the hang of things. Me and my companion are
helping to people out by getting them ready for baptism for the 29 of November. They are progressing really well and they are putting their
part to know if these things are true.
I'll talk to you later Chau!!
